Minecraft Cookie
Soft chocolate chip cookies with cocoa drops — a cubic snack straight out of Minecraft crafting. Crisp at the edges, chewy in the middle.

In Minecraft, cookies are crafted from two stalks of wheat plus cocoa beans and quickly restore hunger. Behind that pixel icon hides a classic chocolate chip cookie. We bake the real thing: melting chocolate drops and a golden crust, served deliberately square — just like in the game.
🧺 Ingredients
🍽 6 servings👩🍳 Method
- 1
Cream
Beat the softened butter with brown and white sugar until pale and fluffy, 2-3 minutes.
- 2
Egg
Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- 3
Dry mix
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.
- 4
Dough
Fold the dry mix into the butter mixture and bring together into a soft, even dough without overmixing.
- 5
Chips
Stir in the chocolate chips, spreading them evenly through the dough.
- 6
Chill
Chill the dough for 15-20 minutes so the cookies hold their shape while baking.
- 7
Shape
Divide the dough into equal pieces, roll into balls and flatten slightly into squares for a pixel look.
- 8
Bake
Place the cookies spaced apart on a parchment-lined tray and bake at 180 C for 10-12 minutes until the edges turn golden.
- 9
Serve
Let cool on the tray for 5 minutes so the centers set and stay soft, then transfer to a wire rack.
💡 Tips
- 💡
Don't bake until fully dry — cookies finish setting on the tray after the oven.
- 💡
Slightly underbaked centers keep the cookies soft and chewy.
🔄 Swaps & variations
- 🔄
Swap the chocolate chips for white chocolate and nuts or dried fruit.

❓ Frequently asked questions
How is the cookie crafted in Minecraft?
In the game cookies are made from two wheat and one cocoa bean, yielding 8 at once. So our recipe is a classic chocolate-chip cookie with cocoa pieces.
Why does my cookie spread too much or not at all?
Too-warm butter makes cookies spread; too much flour keeps them domed. Chill the dough 20–30 minutes before baking for an even shape.
How long do the cookies keep?
Up to a week in a sealed jar. Add a slice of bread or a marshmallow to keep them soft.
