Heat the pan
Heat a pan over medium heat and melt the butter.

Crack the egg
Gently crack the egg into the pan, trying not to break the yolk.

Set the white
Fry for 2–3 minutes until the white sets and the edges turn slightly golden.

Season and serve
Season with salt and pepper and remove from the pan while the yolk is still runny.
