🧺 Ingredients
🍽 4 servings👩🍳 Method
- 1
Prep
Scrub the potatoes well in their skins and pat them dry — the skin will turn into a crisp crust.
- 2
Prick and salt
Prick each potato with a fork in several spots, rub with oil and roll in the coarse salt.
- 3
Bake
Bake at 200 °C for 50–60 minutes until soft — test with a knife, it should slide in easily.
- 4
Serve
Cut a cross on top, fluff it open, add a piece of butter, sprinkle with pepper and green onion.
💡 Tips
- 💡
Be sure to prick the potatoes — without holes the steam inside can burst the skin.
- 💡
Coarse salt on the skin both seasons and draws out moisture, making the crust drier and crispier.

❓ Frequently asked questions
Why is a potato linked to Attack on Titan?
In an early scene cadet Sasha Blouse cannot resist eating a baked potato right at roll call — the moment became a meme and a fan-favorite symbol. Our recipe is a nod to it.
Which potatoes are best for baking?
Choose large, firm-fleshed potatoes (a baking variety). New or watery potatoes give a less fluffy center.
Can I bake it in foil?
You can, but the skin stays soft. For a crisp crust like Sasha loves, bake without foil straight on the rack.
How to top the potato?
Butter and salt are classic, but sour cream, grated cheese, bacon or fried mushrooms are great too.
